Easier said than done! If you are anything like me the greenhouse will be built, the plants set and then something takes me out of town for two weeks and when I come back, "forgetaboutit!!

We have built several greenhouses over our life times and have even successfully grown things in them. We have even thought at one time, after we sold our Bed and Breakfast and Campgrounds in TN that going into the herb business for profit full time was what I really thought we should do. However, it was like owning the B & B all over again or even owning the dairy farms, we could not leave when something came up and at our age and finally having the means to travel the world, the world beckoned and won!

Prior to the world winning I again did a lot of research and found a wonderful book called, "Secrets to a Successful Greenhouse and Business" by T. M. Taylor.

This 2000 edition is the most complete guide to starting and operating a high profit organic or Hydroponic business that I had ever come across at that time and it still continues to be a great book for its content on building greenhouses.

Mr. Taylor is an advocate of using techniques that will benefit the environment. This 11 section guide was written as a step-by-step, how to manual for anyone who wants to profit from a wholesale greenhouse business, making up to $20,000.00 per 30 foot by 90 foot greenhouse in just 90 days. This book was published in 1991 and the ISBN 13-9780962867804. You may find it on Half.com or eBay and it is worth the search simply because it is still filled with usable information.

Taylor's book covers quantity and variety of the best selling organic plants. He covers specialized projects with excellent profit potential such as Hydroponics, forms for growing and much more. The greenhouse plans and information are dynamic. He covers all aspects of selling, marketing and the economics of having a greenhouse business. There are sections on watering and growing care, insect and disease control, soil and fertilizer mixes, delivery, collecting and using a computer for your business, how to organize your business and where the buyers and suppliers are.

I still have a greenhouse, grow herbs and occasionally sell my mixes and blends, but I am not as dedicated to building a greenhouse and going into business as I thought I was back in early 1999!
