It's So Hot I Can Hardly Think Straight©

This summer seems to be the hottest I have ever experienced in the 12 years we have been living in Kentucky even though old timers may recall an odd hot day now and then and then they have to tell me all about it.

It’s so hot the heat keeps me inside most of the time because at 76 years old I do not want to be found face down in one of my gardens.

It’s so hot the heat takes me out at 5:30 and 6 a.m. to try to get some weeding done and the watering done before the heat makes it all evaporate before it hits the roots.

It’s so hot I have to keep all the French doors shut and the windows closed.

It’s so hot I don’t even want to meander around the local flea markets.

It’s so hot that I have to eat my ice cream cone inside my car with the air conditioner running.

It’s so hot I find myself wishing it were winter and I know if it were winter I would be wishing it were spring and if it were spring I would be wishing the rain would stop to allow summer to come.  I guess I know why fall is my favorite time of the year.

It’s so hot I find myself eating less and cooking less.

It’s so hot I find myself wandering around in a long T-shirt and barefoot inside the house and in my art studios.

It’s so hot I sometimes do not even want to paint.

It’s so hot I don’t even want to take a car ride or do anything period.

It’s so hot that at 100 degrees yesterday we are starting to sound like Phoenix, AZ.

It’s so hot that when it dropped to 98 degrees at 4 pmI could feel the difference.

It’s so hot I can hardly think straight!

May the Creative Force be With You.
