My Art Sings My Songs©

Just about any song does something for me and my choices are just about anything providing I am in the mood for it.

My choices vacillate between classical to new age music.  Acid rock, most jazz, rap are not my cup of tea.

In my studios I choose a mood I want to paint in and let it rip.  Recently I created this piece of art to some “Golden Oldies” music using some of my late sister-in-law’s costume jewelry my brother was about to throw out.

I am always looking for ways to recycle something someone is discarding and also ways to raise funds for St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital so I have created "Magical Mirrors©.

Once it was done I found that “I Get By With a Little Help From My Friends” as the old Beatles song goes and in order to “get by” I need your help so I can continue to make these little hand mirrors affordable at about $20.00 to $25.00 and so I am asking for free donations of any old costume jewelry you will be willing to send me.

I can afford to donate the hours needed to make these and the advertising to sell them and to buy the mirrors and the expoxies needed for this project, but I cannot afford to buy the old costume jewelry and any old butter or steak knives (preferably with shiny or silver handles) you may want to discard.

When you send me your old costume jewelry I will name the piece after you and email you a picture or send you a postcard and I will send the proceeds donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in your name."

So as the Smiths sang in, “Please, Please Let me Get What I Want”, you can send your costume jewelry and any old kitchen knife jewelry donations to Arlene Wright-Correll, 100 Dave Wintsch Rd., Munfordville, KY 42765.

In the meantime… my thanks and as Sinead Oconner sings, “Nothing Compares to You.”
